Gnome Tesserae is a simple but addictive puzzle game for the Gnome desktop environment.
1.4.0, the first stable version, is released. This version includes a high-score list and numerous bug fixes.
1.3.99.6 released. Now includes help and sound effects.
1.3.99.5 released. Graphics are improved, the selected tile is now highlighted, valid-move previewing is always turned on, and the background is a reasonably-sized JPG instead of a huge PNG.
1.3.99.4 released. Several serious gameplay bugs are fixed, and the game is now 60% less hideous. There are still numerous unimplemented features, but nothing vital is missing and all serious bugs have been resolved.
1.3.99.3 is released. It's now possible to select a difficulty level and a board style.
I've just released version 1.3.99.2. This release fixes a bug that caused a crash on some undo operations. Be warned: this is a beta release; there are still many known bugs and many unimplemented features.
If you plan to compile from source, be sure to read the README and INSTALL files for instructions. Because Gnome Tesserae is not relocatable, you won't be able to install it with a custom directory prefix like /usr/local/.
You can get the latest release from the download page. Source tarballs and binary RPMs are available now; Debian packages may be available in the future.
